All Five Coyotes Olympians Reach Quarterfinals

GLENDALE -- All five Coyotes Olympians have reached the quarterfinals at the 2014 Winter Olympics men's hockey tournament in Sochi, Russia.

The four quarterfinal matches are set for Wednesday.

Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson and his Swedish teammates will play Slovenia in the first quarterfinal at 1 a.m. (Arizona time) on NBC Sports Network.

Coyotes forward Lauri Korpikoski and his Finnish teammates will play host Russia in the second quarterfinal at 5:30 a.m. (Arizona time) on NBC Sports Network.

Next up, Coyotes goalie Mike Smith and his Canadian teammates will play Latvia at 10 a.m. (Arizona time) on MSNBC. At the same time, Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal and defenseman Zbynek Michalek will battle alongside their Czech Republic teammates vs. the United States on USA.

Meanwhile, the Coyotes, minus the five Olympians mentioned above, will resume practice on Wednesday afternoon at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale. The team’s first post-Olympic game is Feb. 27 at Winnipeg.
