Coyotes Prospect Connor Murphy Invited to USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- USA Hockey announced today that defenseman Connor Murphy, drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (20th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, has been invited to take part in its National Junior Evaluation Camp from August 4-11 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

The 6-foot-3, 195 pound Murphy appeared in 35 games with Sarnia (Ontario Hockey League) this season, recording 8-18-26 and 26 penalty minutes (PIM). In six postseason games with the Sting, he registered 1-2-3 and six PIM’s.

This will be Murphy’s second invitation to the National Junior Evaluation Camp; he was also invited in 2011. The 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship will take place from December 26, 2012 – January 5, 2013 in Ufa, Russia.
