2012-13 Coyotes Prospects Report: 11/12/2012

AHL

Forward Chris Brown scored just 62 seconds into the game, but the Portland Pirates couldn’t hold on to the lead as the Worcester Sharks scored three unanswered goals to beat the Pirates 3-1 in their road trip opener on Nov. 9.

Chad Johnson had 30 saves on 32 shots, with the Sharks adding an empty-net goal in the loss.

On Nov. 10, the Pirates trailed by three goals after the first period, as the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins scored three times during a streak of 14 straight shots. However, goals by Brandon Gormley, Brown, and Alexandre Bolduc brought the Pirates even at the end of regulation, and ultimately forced a shootout.

The Pirates went scoreless in the shootout and goals by Benn Ferriero and Eric Tangradi gave the Pens the victory.

Mark Visentin stopped 38 of the 41 shots he faced in the shootout loss.

The next night at Hershey, the Pirates again fell behind early, but rallied after an Andy Miele goal tied the score in the first. Michael Stone’s second-period goal proved to be the game winner, and Bolduc added another goal to seal the Pirates victory.
