GLENDALE, ARIZONA – USA Hockey announced today that Connor Murphy, the Coyotes’ first round draft selection (20th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has been selected to USA Hockey’s 23-player National Junior Team Roster.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound defenseman has played in 28 games for the Sarnia Sting (OHL) this season and has recorded 5-9-14 with a plus-8 rating and 28 PIM. The Dublin, Ohio native posted 8-18-26 in 35 games with Sarnia last season.
The 19-year-old Murphy and the 2013 U.S. National Junior Team will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship Dec. 26, 2012-Jan. 5, 2013, in Ufa, Russia.
