CHRISTIAN DVORAK

Age: 18

Height/Weight: 6-0, 178

Position: Left Wing

Hometown: Palos, IL, USA

Round: 2 (58th overall)

2013-14 team: London (OHL)

Twitter handle: @10_CD

The Skinny:

Dvorak is an exceptional skater and uses his speed to make him a dangerous scoring threat. In December of 2013, he suffered an ACL tear that required surgery. It took him five months to recover from the injury but he returned in time to play three games for host London at the Memorial Cup.

The Stats:

• In a season shortened by injury, Dvorak notched 14 points (six goals and eight assists) in 33 games for London in his first season in the OHL.

• In 2012-13, Dvorak notched 92 points (35 goals, 57 assists) in 58 games with Chicago Mission U-18.

The Quotes:

“I’m a two-way forward... I can make plays and put pucks in the net. Defensively, I'm a responsible player and someone that the coach can trust in any situation.” – Christian Dvorak

"It's funny how I got drafted by the Coyotes, too. Obviously, he's a great person and a great player on the ice so it's nice to have him to help me out a little bit." – Christian Dvorak, on London teammate Max Domi

"We were able to see him early (in the season) in London, and London is a very good team so he didn’t play a whole lot. He was just starting to get some ice time and we were really liking what we were seeing, and then he got hurt. He was out for five months with a knee injury. We saw him briefly in the Memorial Cup but we didn’t have to put a lot of stock in that. We really like his smarts, instincts and his overall hockey ability." – Coyotes Director of Amateur Scouting Tim Bernhardt

The Fun Facts:

• Like many people from the U.S. Midwest, Dvorak has family members who live in Arizona and he has visited the state on several occasions.

• Having grown up near Chicago, Dvorak admires Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews and the way he plays the game. Ditto Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins.
