COYOTES RE-SIGN DAVID LENEVEU

Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced that the Coyotes have re-signed goaltender David LeNeveu 300K|700K to a one-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
 
LeNeveu, 24, collected a 2-1-0 record with a 3.86 goals against average (GAA) and a .894 save percentage (SV%) in 6 games with the Coyotes last season.  The 6-foot-1, 187-pound netminder also played 37 games for the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) last season, posting a 2.97 GAA and .907 SV%.
 
In 21 career NHL games over the last two seasons, LeNeveu has registered a 5-9-2 record, 3.38 GAA, and .888 save percentage with the Coyotes.  He made his NHL debut on Oct. 6, 2005 at Los Angeles and recorded his first NHL win versus St. Louis on Oct. 25, 2005. 
 
LeNeveu played in the 2004 AHL All-Star Game while a member of the Springfield Falcons.
 
Prior to turning pro, LeNeveu posted a career record of 39-5-2 in two seasons at Cornell (ECAC).  In his sophomore season of 2002-03, he finished as a runner up for the Hobey Baker Award while his 1.20 GAA was the best ever recorded in NCAA history.  LeNeveu was named to the 2003 NCAA East First All-American Team, the ECAC First All-Star Team and was honored as the ECAC Player of the Year that season.  As a freshman at Cornell, LeNeveu was named to the 2002 ECAC All-Rookie Team.
 
LeNeveu was selected by the Coyotes in the 2nd round (46th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
