On Friday, USA Hockey will hold the 2007 U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp at Lake Placid, New York.  The camp will bring together 45 of the best, young American hockey players for nine days of both on and off-ice training.  The camp will be a key factor for USA Hockey officials who will be putting together the 2008 U.S. National Junior Team that will compete in the 2008 IIHF World Junior Championship Tournament later this year.

Among those at this week’s camp will be Phoenix Coyotes prospect and University of Michigan defenseman Chris Summers.  Selected by the Coyotes in the first round (29th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Summers played in all 41 games recording 14 points (6 goals, 8 assists) and 58 penalty minutes.  Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney will also be on-hand to monitor the progress of Summers and other players.

Following two days of meetings and on-ice practice sessions, the campers will be broken into two squads (USA Blue & USA White), which will then play head-to-head in exhibition games on August 5th and 6th.  Then on August 7th, the clubs will begin international competition facing Finland and Sweden twice over the final four days of camp.

All games will be played in the 1980 Rink at Herb Brooks Arena.  For a complete schedule of the games, see below:
