On Friday morning, the 2007 Super Series continued with Team Canada capturing a 6-2 win over Russia, improving to 3-0-0 in the tournament.

Phoenix Coyotes prospect Kyle Turris continued his hot play, scoring a power play goal (his third tally of the series) at 9:40 of the opening period.  On the play, Turris accepted a feed from John Tavares behind the net and fired it past Russian netminder Semen Varlamov for a 2-0 Canadians lead.

Team Canada would add three more power play goals, as well as two at even strength to complete their scoring.

Russia forward Alexei Cherepanov will miss the remainder of the Super Series after sustaining a concussion in Game Two on Wednesday.  According to team officials, Cherepanov remains in the hospital after collision with Canada’s Brandon Sutter.  Cherepanov was the New York Rangers first round selection (17th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Game Four of the series will take place on Saturday, September 1 at Omsk Arena in Omsk, Russia.  It will be the final game of the series in Russia before the series moves to Canada for the final four games. is the official Web site of the Phoenix Coyotes.
