By Chad Lynch
On Saturday, the first half of the 2007 Super Series concluded with Team Canada defeating Russia 4-2 and capturing their fourth consecutive victory.

Despite being out-shot by a two-to-one margin in the first period, the Canadians would come away from the opening frame with a 1-0 lead on the strength of Brad Marchand’s goal, which came with less than two minutes to play.

In the second period, Canada turned the tables on Russia, out-shooting them 17-12 and in the process, increasing their lead to 3-0 with goals from Sam Gagner and John Tavares.

At 3:45 of the third period, Canada finished off their scoring when Marchand added his second tally of the game and third of the series to put Team Canada on top by the score of 4-2.

TURRIS UPDATE
Despite being held without a point for the first time in the series on Saturday, Phoenix Coyotes prospect Kyle Turris is still tied for fifth among all tournament scorers with three points (3 goals) and ranks first in power play goals with two (2).

NEXT GAME
The series will now move to Canada for the final four games, beginning on Tuesday, September 4, when the clubs will face-off at MTS Centre in Winnipeg.  The Game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. (Arizona time).
