The compass pointed due North on Sunday as the Coyotes Caravan made its way up I-17, bringing Phoenix Coyotes hockey to the high country cities of Flagstaff and Prescott Valley.

Coyotes’ Mikael Tellqvist and Mathias Tjarnqvist were joined by Howler at the Jay Lively Ice Arena in Flagstaff as the trio spent the afternoon with the local hockey community, meeting fans who often make the two-hour trip “down the hill” to watch their favorite NHL team in action.

The Caravan also made a stop in the backyard of their new CHL affiliate – the Arizona Sundogs. The visit to Augie’s Place in Prescott Valley not only gave Sundogs fans a chance to get to know their new parent organization, but allowed Howler and his canine counterpart “Burnie the Sundog,” to partake in a bit of mascot mischief.

The Caravan wasn’t limited to stops outside the Valley on Sunday as Fredrick Sjostrom and Mike York mingled with fans at Maloney’s Tavern in Tempe.

Fans can catch the Caravan on Monday in Tempe as Daniel Carcillo and Logan Stephenson will sign autographs at the Wal-Mart location at Elliot and Priest from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. The pair will also be joined by Coyotes TV Color Analyst Darren Pang and Coyotes Radio’s Matt Rosen.
