This annual gathering on the greens brought together Coyotes players, coaches, management and fans to help raise money for Coyotes Charities, which seeks to enhance the quality of life throughout Arizona communities by supporting non-profit organizations that promote healthcare, education, cultural arts and sports-related programs for children.
Golfers were greeted with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as a Coyotes player, coach, broadcast announcer or member of management joined each foursome throughout their 18 holes. Prizes awaited the top teams in the field, plus, additional gifts were given for those who excelled at various skill stations throughout the course, including the longest drive, closest to the pin and closest to the curve.
Also highlighting the event was a special opportunity to sample wine from Head Coach Wayne Gretzky’s vineyard and a bevy of gifts that awaited each golfer prior to the mid-day shotgun start.
While everyone teed off with the best of intentions, all in attendance also had the chance to purchase a few “mulligans” with a small charitable donation. Leaving his mulligans in his bag, however, was
Fredrik Sjostrom , whose group posted the event’s overall lowest score, followed closely by
Mathias Tjarnqvist and his foursome. The evening was capped by a private dinner with both silent and live auctions, with Phoenix Coyotes TV Play-by-Play Announcer Dave Strader and TV Color Analyst Darren Pang acting as Masters of Ceremonies.
