COYOTES CAMPUS REPORT (NOV. 1 - NOV. 4)

Monday, 11.05.2007 / 7:16 PM / Features
By Chad Lynch
Each week during the NCAA hockey season, PhoenixCoyotes.com will take a look at the past week's performances by the Coyotes prospects currently playing college hockey.

With ten talented players, including three former first-round draft picks, spread across seven of the best hockey programs in North America, the Coyotes' connection to college hockey is one of the strongest and most talented in the NHL.

Weekly Report:

University of Michigan Forward Kevin Porter turned in the most impressive performance of the weekend, scoring four goals in two games as he helped lead the Wolverines to back-to-back wins over the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  Helping Porter were teammates and fellow Coyotes prospects Chad Kolarik and Chris Summers as Kolarik posted three points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Summers added a helper of his own in the weekend series.

Goaltender Brett Bennett posted his first two wins of the season, as Boston University defeated Providence last Thursday and UMass-Lowell on Saturday.  In the two games, Bennett allowed just three goals while stopping 32-shots.

Forward Blake Wheeler (University of Minnesota) and Kyle Turris (University of Wisconsin) recorded a goal and an assist respectively in their weekend action.

Prospects Chris Frank (Western Michigan), Benn Ferriero (Boston College), William Engasser and Pat Brosnihan (Yale), were held scoreless.
