With the signing of Ilya Bryzgalov to a 3 year contract extension, the Phoenix Coyotes now have the long term stability between the pipes that every franchise craves. The precedent has been set for teams to make a quick transition in the NHL. If you don’t believe me, just look at the past three Stanley Cup Champions. Anaheim, Carolina, and Tampa Bay are all small market teams in non-traditional hockey markets that brought the world’s greatest trophy home to their cities where ice can only be found indoors.
