TEAM CANADA BEATS TEAM USA IN THE FINAL MINUTE 5-4

Vrbata's hot stick leads the Czech Republic to another win.

Dany Heatley scored his second goal of the game in the final minute with 46.8 seconds left to give Team Canada a dramatic 5-4 win over Team USA. With the win in Halifax, Canada claimed the top spot in Group B at the 2008 World Championship with a 3-0 record.

Shane Doan played a key role in the victory with two assists on goals by Jonathan Toews and Derek Roy.

Ed Jovanovski was also very active leading Team Canada in shots on goal (5) and ice time (19:31).

For Team USA, Peter Mueller and Keith Ballard were both held off the scoresheet.

In Group D play in Quebec City on Tuesday Night, Radim Vrbata continued to ride a hot streak with two more goals in a 7-2 triumph over Italy. Vrbata now leads the Czech Republic with 4 goals in the tournament. Martin Hanzal added an assist on Vrbata's goal in the second period.
