The Conference Finals feature two compelling battles that will decide which teams get to fight for the right to raise the Stanley Cup.

The state of Pennsylvania will be divided as Philadelphia faces Pittsburgh in what should be a heated battle. 1981 was the last time two teams from the same state met with a berth in the Stanley Cup Finals on the line. That time, it was the New York Islanders defeating the New York Rangers, this time it will either be “The Steel City” or “The City of Brotherly Love”.

In the West, the Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars will meet to determine the other finalist. This showdown will feature two of the great leaders in the NHL with Brenden Morrow and Nicklas Lidstrom captaining these well balanced teams. It is hard to find a weakness in any facet of the game for these Western powers that are both peaking at the right time of the year.

Matt Rosen and Louie DeBrusk have a lot to say about how the West and East will be won as they deliver their prognostications for the Conference Finals.
