On Thursday at the 2008 IIHF World Championship, Peter Mueller continued his solid play with an assist as Team USA defeated Germany 6-4 in a Group F qualifying round game in Halifax. Mueller now has three assists in four games played. Team USA dominated play, outshooting the Germans 42-15. Zach Parise (New Jersey Devils) led the way with two goals including the game winner.

Shane Doan and Ed Jovanovski were held off the scoreboard as Canada struggled against a surprising Norway squad. Rick Nash (Columbus Blue Jackets) would deliver another highlight reel goal that made ESPN SportsCenter’s top plays to win the game in the third period.

In other action, the Czech Republic cruised past Switzerland 5-0, and Team Sweden rolled over Denmark 8-1. Both of those Group E games were played in Quebec City.
