COYOTES PITCH IN AT TURKEY DRIVE

The Coyotes made a strike against hunger on Thursday as President and Chief Operating Officer Douglas Moss, Howler and members of The Pack participated in 3TV’s Big Guy Turkey Drive at the Salvation Army headquarters in Phoenix.

While Howler left more than a few pins standing during his turn at turkey bowling, the desert dog definitely scored a strike with his donation of frozen turkeys to the drive, helping the Salvation Army provide Thanksgiving dinners to people throughout the Valley. Followed by Moss’ donation of a check from the Coyotes to the Salvation Army, the morning marked the beginning of a week-long effort by the team to lend a needed assist to our community’s food supply and those less fortunate.

On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Howler will be making another stop on his turkey tour at the Bashas’ store at Hayden and Indian School roads in Scottsdale between 5 – 6 p.m. The top dog of NHL mascots will be presenting a check to 12 News’ Bruce Cooper and KMLE Country's Gwen Foster to assist the stations’ Turkey Tuesday food drive, benefiting St. Vincent de Paul.

The Coyotes will conclude the week with the Leading Ladies’ Biscuit in the Basket Food Drive at Jobing.com Arena prior to the Nov. 28 game vs. the Colorado Avalanche. Fans are encouraged to follow the lead set by the players' significant others and bring boxed and canned non-perishable foods to collection containers outside Gates 4 and 7 to benefit the Salvation Army. All donations will earn entry into a contest to win a Coyotes prize package, including a team-signed jersey and four glass seats to a game.

“This is such an important time of the year to assist those who otherwise would have to do without during the Holiday season,” said Sarah Finecey, the team’s Director of Community Relations. “We’re thankful to be a part of these drives hosted by our local media and we also encourage the community to come out to our matinee game next Friday and bring a few boxes and cans with them.”
