Information, observations and anecdotes about the Coyotes
as told by Dave Vest, the team's V.P. of News Content

The following is a true story about a hockey fan, a mini-van, a lengthy drive and a giant bobblehead doll. Here we go, fasten your seatbelt:

Joe Rawn lives in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, and has a significant sports bobblehead doll collection in his home, which he shares with his wife. This week they added a new bobblehead, which he bought online at for $541, with all proceeds going to Phoenix Coyotes Charities.

Coyotes fans may recognize the bobblehead that Rawn purchased because it used to reside inside Arena on the south end of the upper concourse. And did I mention it stands about six feet tall?
Joe Rawn (right) and his nephew Spencer (left) drove 38 hours to pick up the bobblehead doll they purchased online.

“I saw it on and decided that I had to have one that size,” Rawn said. “They are not very common, and me being me, I had to have it.”

Well, long story short, Joe and his nephew Spencer drove to Glendale from Wasaga Beach to pick it up because he did not want to risk it getting damaged during the shipping process. After a 38-hour drive spread out over three days, Joe and Spencer reached the Valley and picked up the doll, which all of the Coyotes players signed for him, on Jan. 27.

Then, after taking off the base and wrapping the doll in bubble wrap from head to toe, Joe and Spencer carefully squeezed the doll into the mini-van with just an inch or two to spare, and off they went, back to Canada.

I can only imagine the look on the Customs Inspector‘s face when Joe and Spencer pulled up to the border.
