The Coyotes are expecting center Steven Reinprecht to return from a shoulder injury in about two weeks, Head Coach Wayne Gretzky said after Saturday's morning skate. Tests on the injured  shoulder conducted Friday afternoon revealed less damage than the team originally feared.

“We got some good news (late) yesterday and it (Reinprecht’s absence) is not going to be as long as we anticipated,” Gretzky said.” We were thinking anywhere from four to 12 weeks as of yesterday and (now) it looks like it’s going to be about two weeks…He should be able skate on his own next week, and with any kind of luck we’ll get him back in 14 days.”

Reinprecht, who is fourth on the team with 28 points, was injured in Thursday’s loss at San Jose when he tried to squeeze under a check into the boards by San Jose defensemen Alexei Semenov.

“I just strained it a little bit,” Reinprecht said Saturday. “We’ll let the trainers do their job and hopefully I’ll be back in action soon. I’m hoping to go with the guys on the trip (to Nashville and Detroit next week) and just start skating, keep the legs going and take it day by day.” is the official Web site of the Arizona Coyotes.
