COYOTES 2005-06 ROOKIE CAMP DATES
GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today the club's training camp dates for the 2005-06 season.
The Coyotes rookies will report to training camp on Friday, September 2. Players will receive medical examinations on September 2 at Glendale Arena. The rookies will skate from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on September 3-6 at Glendale Arena before departing to San Jose on the evening of September 6 to participate in a rookie tournament featuring players from the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. The four-team tournament will be held from September 7-11 at the Logitech Ice, the Sharks practice facility in San Jose. Games will be played on September 7,8,10 and 11 with a practice day scheduled for September 9.
Among the Coyotes top prospects that are scheduled to compete include forwards Jakub Koreis (first-round drat choice, 2002) and Randall Gelech (seventh-round draft choice, 2003); defensemen Keith Ballard (11th overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft) and Matt Jones (third-round draft choice, 2002), and goaltender Pier-Olivier Pelletier (second-round draft choice, 2005).
