On Thursday night, Coyotes goaltender Curtis Joseph added to his phenomenal resume by earning his 400th NHL victory in a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames.

Joseph is now the ninth goaltender in NHL history to reach a milestone that could possibly never be reached again.

"It is an amazing feat," said Coyotes Head Coach Wayne Gretzky.  "In today's game, where there is so much parity, it will be hard for any goaltender to reach that level.

"What makes it even more impressive is the period in which he achieved it, " continued Gretzky.  "Back when I played there was a lot less balance in the league.  You knew there were certain teams that you would face during the season and you get some points and a win from.  Nowadays, the league is so competitive, for any goaltender to dominate the way Curtis has, is very special."

While 400 victories is an amazing individual record, Joseph was quick to point out that he was happy to get the win now rather than drag the process out.

"Sometimes records like that can get harder to reach the more you talk about them," said Joseph.  "It was nice to get the win tonight and to do it at home.

As Joseph continues to climb up the ladder of goaltending records, there are two notable marks that Joseph is now approaching.

All-Time Wins:  "Cujo" is now just three victories away from tying Coyotes Goaltending Coach Grant Fuhr with 403.  Joseph could also pass netminders Martin Brodeur (407), Glenn Hall (407) and Tony Esposito (423) this season.

All-Time Shutouts:  After recording his 44th career shutout earlier this season, Joseph now only needs two more to tie goaltending legend Ken Dryden for 22nd place on the all-time list. is the official Web site of the Arizona Coyotes.
