This will be the first time that Doan will see action in the Olympics and the fourth time that Doan - a native of Halkirk, Alberta - will represent Team Canada in international play.  In 2004, Doan scored the Cup-winning goal for Team Canada at the 2004 World Cup while registering 1-1-2 in 6 games.  In 2003, he helped lead Team Canada to a gold medal at the World Championships in Helsinki, Finland, collecting 4-2-6 in 9 games.  In 1999, he represented Team Canada at the World Championships in Norway playing 4 games.

In 34 games with the Coyotes this season, Doan has recorded 6-16-22 and 55 penalty minutes (PIM).  Doan leads all team forwards in ice time, averaging 18:43 per game.  He also ranks tied for 2nd on the team in assists and tied for 4th in points.  In 2003-04, Doan earned his first NHL All-Star Game selection and led the Coyotes in goals, assists and points with 27-41-68 in 79 games.

The 6-foot-2, 216-pound forward is now in his 10th NHL season, all with the Phoenix Coyotes/Winnipeg Jets organization.  In his NHL career, the 29-year-old has totaled 148 goals, 225 assists and 373 points in 682 games.  Doan was originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1st round (7th overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
