GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have signed free agent left wing Patrick Fischer to a multi-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Last season, the 5-foot-11, 194-pound Fischer played 44 games with Zug in the Swiss League, leading his team in scoring by setting career highs in goals (21), assists (32) and points (53). Fischer ranked 4th in scoring among all players in the Swiss League, and was 5th in goals and 4th in assists. He also represented Switzerland at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, recording 1-1-2 and 4 penalty minutes in 6 games.

The 30-year-old forward has played his entire 13-year career in the Swiss League with Zug, Lugano and Davos. In 534 games, Fischer has collected 176-263-439. He has also played in seven World Championship tournaments with Switzerland (16-11-27 in 56 games) and two Olympic Games (2006 and 2002). is the official Web site of the Arizona Coyotes.
