COMRIE & MICHALEK ADVANCE AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

CANADA 2 - USA 1
On Tuesday, Phoenix Coyotes Center Mike Comrie helped Team Canada defeat Team USA 2-1 in the final game of the preliminary round of the 2006 World Hockey Championships. 

Comrie was held without a goal for the first time since the tournament began, but did register a pair of shots in the win.

Team Canada will now move on to the Qualifying Round where they will play tournament host, Latvia on Thursday.

CZECH REPUBLIC 3 - FINLAND 3
The Czech Republic earned their second tie in three games to advance to the Qualifying Round of the tournament on Tuesday.

Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Zbynel Michalek was held without a goal after scoring a pair in his previous contest, but did register two penalty minutes in Tuesday's 3-3 contest with Finland. 

The Czech Republic will face Norway on Thursday.

The Qualifying Round of the tournament will run from May 11-16, 2006.
