FOUR COYOTES FIRST ROUND DRAFT CHOICES
TO ATTEND ROOKIE SUMMER CONDITIONG CAMP JULY 3-9
WHEELER, HANZAL, MUELLER & SUMMERS TO PARTICPATE IN CAMP

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that four Coyotes first round draft choices (Blake Wheeler - 1st round, 5th overall in 2004, Martin Hanzal - 1st round, 17th overall in 2005, Peter Mueller - 1st round, 8th overall in 2006, and Chris Summers - 1st round, 29th overall in 2006), will participate in the Coyotes' rookie summer conditioning camp July 3-9 at Desert Schools Coyotes Center in Peoria and Glendale Arena. The on-ice sessions of the summer conditioning camp at Desert Schools Coyotes Center will be open to the public. Admission is free.

The Coyotes also announced that defenseman Jordan Bendfeld (5th round, 152nd overall in 2006), defenseman Chris Frank (7th round, 188th overall in 2006) and center Benn Ferriero (7th round, 196th overall in 2006) will also attend the summer conditioning camp.

Twenty-six (26) of the Coyotes' top prospects will attend the camp including Coyotes' right wing Bill Thomas, center Joel Perrault, Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Defenseman of the Year Keith Yandle, defenseman Logan Stephenson (2nd round, 35th overall in 2004), and goaltender Pier-Olivier Pelletier (2nd round, 59th overall in 2005).

The camp will provide players with NHL quality coaching and instruction in both on and off-ice workout sessions. The camp will also focus on conditioning, strength, power and agility training fundamentals, high speed skill development and nutrition.

The coaching staff for the 2006 Phoenix Coyotes Summer Conditioning Camp will include Coyotes' Associate Coach Barry Smith, Goaltending Coach Grant Fuhr, San Antonio Rampage (AHL) Head Coach Pat Conacher, Coyotes' Director of Player Development Eddie Mio, Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Mike Bahn and Power Skating Coach Mark Ciracco.
