COYOTES TO SELECT 13th AND 22nd OVERALL IN FIRST ROUND OF NHL ENTRY DRAFT

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Phoenix Coyotes will have the 13th and 22nd overall draft selections in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, which begins Friday (June 25) at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be televised on VERSUS at 4 p.m. Arizona time.

The Coyotes currently hold five picks in the seven-round draft, including two in the first round. In addition to owning the 22nd overall pick, the Coyotes also have Calgary’s first round pick, No. 13 overall, which they acquired along with Matthew Lombardi and Brandon Prust on Mar. 4, 2009 in exchange for Olli Jokinen and a third round pick in 2009. Last year, the Coyotes selected defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson with the sixth overall pick in the first round.

*Phoenix acquired the 13th overall pick from Calgary, along with Matthew Lombardi and Brandon Prust, in exchange for Olli Jokinen and Phoenix's 3rd-round pick in the 2009 Draft on Mar. 4, 2009.

** Phoenix traded its 3rd-round pick in the 2010 Entry Draft (No. 82 overall) to the NY Islanders for Pittsburgh's 3rd-round pick in 2009 (No. 91, previously acquired), which the Coyotes used to select goaltender Mike Lee on June 27, 2009.

*** Phoenix acquired the 113th overall pick (4th round) from Buffalo for Mikael Tellqvist on Mar. 4, 2009.

#Phoenix acquired Carolina’s 5th-round pick in the 2010 Entry Draft (No. 138, previously acquired from Nashville) for Jared Staal on May 13, 2010 ( Phoenix traded its 5th-round pick in the 2010 Entry Draft, No. 142, to Washington for Sami Lepisto on June 27, 2009.)

##Phoenix traded Sean Zimmerman and its 6th-round pick (No. 172 overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft to Vancouver for Mathieu Schneider on Mar. 3, 2010.

###Phoenix traded Matt Jones and its 4th- (No. 112 overall) and 7th-round (No. 202 overall) picks in the 2010 Entry Draft to Toronto for Lee Stempniak on Mar. 3, 2010.
