GLENDALE – Well, the training camp for rookies is over and it’s almost time for the veterans to show up and officially get back to work. The big boys will report to training camp on Friday for meetings, physicals and assorted media obligations. The first of three groups will take the ice inside Jobing.com Arena at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

My original plan was to interview Assistant General Manager Brad Treliving after Wednesday’s game and then type up the transcript of the interview for your reading pleasure. Frankly, that plan changed quickly because we chatted for nearly 11 minutes.
So, instead, I present to you an audio blog, if you will. Click here to listen to my in-depth interview with Treliving in its entirety.
The signing of veteran center Eric Belanger on Tuesday got me wondering if Wojtek Wolski’s proposed switch from winger to center this season would still go on as planned.

“We plan to try Wolski in the middle to see how that works yet remain flexible, based on the performance of others in training camp,” General Manager Don Maloney told me.
At this moment, the Coyotes have 10 centers on the training camp roster, including Wolski. They are: Wolski, Belanger, Martin Hanzal, Vernon Fiddler, Kyle Turris, Kyle Wellwood (tryout), Colin Long, Justin Bernhardt, Andrew Ebbett, and Bracken Kearns.
FYI, Belanger will wear No. 20 for the Coyotes. And for those who haven’t heard, forward Lauri Korpikoski has switched from No. 29 to No. 28.
Thanks for reading/listening.
