NHL Names Yandle No. 2 Star of Month for January

Yandle helped lead the Coyotes to an 8-4-2 month, while registering 3-14-17 in 14 games. He also had a plus-9 rating. Yandle finished the month of January with a nine-game point streak, the league’s longest active streak, recording 2-12-14 in that stretch.
The 24-year-old Yandle leads all NHL defenseman in scoring with 8-36-44 in 51 games. His 36 assists also rank first amongst defenseman and are tied for sixth most overall in the league. His 20 power-play assists are tied for second most in the NHL. He also has a team leading nine multi-point games and leads the team in average ice time (24:21).
The Boston, Mass., native has already surpassed his career-high point total of 41 (12g, 29a) that he set last season.
The Coyotes visit the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. (MST). The game will be televised on Versus and can be heard on XTRA Sports 910 AM.
