Coyotes Head Equipment Manager Stan Wilson to Work His 1,500th NHL Game Tonight

“On behalf of all the Coyotes players and coaches and the entire organization, I would like to congratulate Stan on reaching this significant milestone,” said Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney. “The 1,500 game milestone is a testament to Stan’s commitment, professionalism and endurance and we thank him for all his loyalty and dedication to the Coyotes.”
Wilson is currently in his 21st season with the Coyotes organization and 15th season as Head Equipment Manager. The Melfort, Saskatchewan native began his career in 1980 as an equipment manager with the Junior B. Melfort TM’s. He joined the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League (WHL) for the 1982-83 season and won a Memorial Cup championship in 1985. Wilson joined the Winnipeg Jets in 1990 as an equipment manager and has been with the organization ever since.
In 2007, Wilson won a gold medal as the Equipment Manager of Team Canada at the World Championships in Russia. He was also the Equipment Manager of the gold-medal winning Canadian squad at the 2003 World Championships in Finland. In 1997, he represented the Coyotes as one of the equipment managers for the NHL All-Star Game in San Jose.
