Coyotes Place Jovanovski on Injured Reserve

Schlemko Assigned to AHL for Conditioning

(GLENDALE, ARIZONA) --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have placed defenseman Ed Jovanovski on the club’s injured reserve list. Jovanovski suffered an upper body injury late in the second period of last night’s 4-3 win over the Atlanta Thrashers.

In 47 games with the Coyotes this season, the 6-foot-2, 210 pound native of Windsor, Ontario has recorded 5-9-14 and 37 penalty minutes.

The Coyotes also announced that defenseman David Schlemko has been activated off of the club’s injured reserve list and sent to San Antonio (AHL) for conditioning. Schlemko has been out of the lineup since January 17 with an upper body injury.

In 25 games with the Coyotes this season, the 6-foot-1, 195 pound native of Edmonton, Alberta has collected 0-5-5 and 18 penalty minutes.
