GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney today announced the Coyotes have assigned defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson to the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate.
The 6-foot-2, 190 pound Ekman-Larsson has appeared in 48 games with the Coyotes this season recording 1-10-11 and 24 penalty minutes. He scored his first career NHL goal on January, 17 versus San Jose. In 10 games with the Rampage, the 19-year-old native of Karlskrona, Sweden has recorded 2-6-8 and 14 PIM.
Ekman-Larsson was drafted by the Coyotes in the first-round (sixth overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft.
