Miele to Represent Team USA at the IIHF World Championship

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- USA Hockey announced newly signed Coyotes forward and 2011 Hobey Baker Award Winner Andy Miele will represent Team USA in the IIHF World Championship, in Slovakia, April 29-May 15.

The 5-foot-9, 180 pound Miele had an outstanding 2010-11 season with Miami University, leading the RedHawks and the entire NCAA with 24-47-71 in just 39 games. Miele averaged an impressive 1.82 points per game while his 24 goals tied for 10th in the country. The 22-year-old native of Grosse Point Woods, Michigan ranks second on Miami’s single-season assists list and recorded the most assists since 1978-79. In addition, he is tied for second in single-season points at Miami, which are also the most points since 1978-79.
