Coyotes to Host 2011 WhiteOut Party in the Plaza

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Phoenix Coyotes today announced they will once again host a “Party in the Plaza” before each home playoff game during the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Phoenix Coyotes will host the Detroit Red Wings at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 18 at Jobing.com Arena in Game 3 of their Western Conference Quarter-Final series. For every home playoff game, fans are encouraged to come to the game dressed in white in honor of the Coyotes’ “WhiteOut” tradition.

The pre-game festivities will begin this Monday evening on the WaterDance Plaza at Westgate in front of Jobing.com Arena at 5 p.m. Aramark will have food and beverages for sale on the plaza. Fans will be allowed to bring their food and drink items into the arena at game time. Music will be provided by the Reza Nation Band from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Howler and the Paw Patrol will be prowling throughout plaza interacting with fans by offering a free poster making station and tattoos. Radio personality Sludge from 93.3 KDKB will be the plaza emcee for the 2011 WhiteOut costume contest, the winner will receive an autographed Coyotes stick.

Coyotes Charities will auction off a variety of WhiteOut-themed items, including autographed WhiteOut jerseys and hats, which will be available for bidding at the Coyotes Community Corner near the Coyotes Den team store on the main concourse. In addition, Coyotes Charities will be selling autographed “Mystery Pucks” at the Community Corner for a donation of $20, all proceeds to benefit Coyotes Charities. Coyotes Charities will also offer a 50/50 raffle during each game.

Prior to the game on the plaza, Coyotes Charities will be selling WhiteOut rally towels, wigs, noisemakers, necklaces, beards and will also have a face painter and white hair spray available for fans. All proceeds to benefit Coyotes Charities.

The party for Game 4 on Wednesday will begin at 5 p.m. and will feature live music from A Boy Named SIOUX until 7 p.m. Details on the party for Game 6 (if necessary) will be announced at a later date.

ReZaNation Bio:

ReZaNation is an American band founded in Phoenix Arizona by 3 music greats: Jimmy Mack (bassist), Paris James (guitarist/lead vocal) and Dave Bedell (drummer). Jimmy Mack, described as "a living blues legend" was inducted into The Arizona Blues Hall of Fame in 2004. He has toured with some of the great bands of the 70’s and 80’s including Sly and The Family Stone, Edwin Starr & Starrchild and M.C. Hammer. Paris James is an internationally renowned singer-songwriter whose debut album, won the Phoenix Blues Society’s Album of the Year Award and Phoenix New Times Best Old Time Blues Album Award. The final member of the band, Dave Bedell, the 2010 "Drummer of the Year" for Phoenix and Los Angeles has been described as "a true kaleidoscope of talent.” He has worked with bands and artists such as F5, Megadeth, George Hughes, and Avian. After an impromptu performance that was described as "Pure Magic", the trio decided to push the envelope, and ReZaNation was born. Their music style comprises the elements of their rich musical background of Rock, Blues, Funk and R&B. ReZaNation is not just about the music, it is also about the performance. All three members bring their prolific experiences from recording and touring to their live stage performances, giving their audience a unique peek into the musical soul of ReZaNation.

A Boy Named SIOUX Bio:

A Boy Named Sioux's music is described by some as "outlaw country" while others call it "blue collar rock n roll". It Is self described as a musical journey through life experiences. Sioux has an original sound that is influenced by Waylon Jennings, The Charlie Daniels Band, Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd. R.E. Toner, an Arizona native, started the band in 2007 when he wrote and produced the first album, The Next Big Thing. It was quick to make an impression. In 2008, A Boy Named Sioux won the Best of Phoenix, New Times’ category Best Local Band and they won Best Musical Group at the Phoenix Music Awards. In 2009, they won Country Group of the Year at the Phoenix/L.A. Music Awards. They finished in the top 5 for Best Local Band in the Phoenix New Times, Best of awards in 2010. The band has opened for musicians such as Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Justin Moore, played the Keith Urban Block Party, as well as, performed with many other national acts. Sioux has also played the Tempe Tostitos Fiesta Bowl New Years Eve Block Party, the P.F. Changs Rock & Roll Marathon, Country Thunder Arizona and headlined at the Revolution Lounge at the Mirage, Las Vegas. R.E. Toner leads the band on vocals and acoustic and features Greg Ahmann on guitar, Austin Goff on drums and Steve Danielak on bass. ABNS is currently working on their second album and plan to release it this summer.
