GLENDALE – Twenty-eight prospects trickled into Jobing.com Arena throughout the day on Wednesday from all over the globe to register for the Coyotes' annual Prospects Development Camp. The camp begins Thursday at 10 a.m. at Polar Ice in Peoria and runs until Sunday. Fans are invited to watch the players on the ice on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

The Coyotes stage the camp for prospects each July to chart each player’s progress among their peers and to give them a taste of the NHL experience.
“It’s always nice to come back to Glendale and the Phoenix area to come to this camp,” said forward Chris Brown, a forward who is attending the camp for a third year. “It’s a learning experience. You get to learn what it’s like to be a professional, to be treated like a professional and to work like a professional. The staff here is great and really teaches us the main things that it’s going to take (to reach the NHL). It’s also nice to get a little feedback from Mr. Maloney and Coach (Dave) Tippett about what they’re looking for from you to eventually become a Coyote.”
Center Andy Miele, who won the 2011 Hobey Baker Award, is making his first appearance at the camp. Like Murphy, he’s eager to get to know his peers.

All of the players were assigned space within the main Coyotes dressing room inside Jobing.com Arena. For those players attending the camp for the first time, unpacking their gear on Wednesday and trying on Coyotes equipment was a memorable experience.
“The locker room is spectacular, especially the weight room,” said forward Lucas Lessio, whom Phoenix grabbed in the second round of this year’s draft. “It’s even better than some local gyms around my house, that’s for sure. Being here, I’m just in awe. I’m trying to let it all sink in. Seeing palm trees outside the arena, it’s just unbelievable.”
