Installing the ice is a time-consuming job that will take the crew several days, about 10,000 gallons of water and gallons and gallons of paint to finish.

Jim Hanlon, in his first season with the Coyotes, is overseeing the ice installation. This year's ice design will feature the team's 15th anniversary logo at center ice.

The ice will be used for the first time on Saturday when 34 rookies begin a weeklong camp just for them before the veterans arrive on Sept. 16.

The Coyotes wil host 41 regular-season games at Arena starting with the home opener vs. the new Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 15. Click here for ticket information.
