EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Darian Dziurzynski, Ethan Werek and Brett Hextall scored goals but they weren’t enough for the Coyotes - who lost to the Los Angeles Kings, 4-3, on Thursday afternoon at the Toyota Sports Center.

Jordan Nolan notched the game-winning goal with 1:58 left in the third period during a five-on-three advantage for LA.

Dziurzynski, who netted 35 goals in 72 games for Saskatoon of the WHL last season, scored with 1:06 left in the first period after Phoenix fell behind 3-0. He also scored on Wednesday night in Phoenix’s 8-7 win in the first game of the annual two-game series.

The Coyotes selected Dziurzynski with the 141st overall pick in this year’s NHL Entry Draft.

Werek, whom Phoenix acquired in an off-season trade with the New York Rangers, pulled the Coyotes to within 3-2 by scoring a goal midway through the third period.

Hextall, who netted two goals in Wednesday’s game, added his third of the series on a power play with 4:40 left in the game. Hextall's father, former NHL goalie Ron Hextall, is the Assistant General Manager of the Kings.

Louis Domingue played goal for Phoenix for the first two periods. Marc Cheverie relieved him to start the third period.

Andy Miele, Chris Summers and Brandon Gormley did not play in Thursday’s game. All were rested so they could be fresh for the start of training camp on Saturday.
