GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Kodette LaBarbera, wife of Coyotes goaltender Jason LaBarbera, and Katerina Jokinen, wife of Calgary Flames center Olli Jokinen, are leading a fundraising effort to help the families of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team that were affected by the tragic plane crash that took place on September 7 in Russia.

LaBarbera and Jokinen have designed bracelets that will be sold by player wives and girlfriends from every NHL team at all 30 NHL arenas this season. Proceeds from the bracelets will go to the families of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team. Brijet Whitney, wife of Coyotes left wing Ray Whitney, is assisting LaBarbera with uniting wives and girlfriends from all 23 NHL teams in the United States.

"We were all affected by the incredible tragedy that took place in Russia a few weeks ago," said Kodette LaBarbera. “We wanted to unite all the wives and girlfriends in the hockey world to show our support for the families of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. We are thrilled to have wives and girlfriends from every NHL team involved in this project and we hope that hockey fans in North America and all over the world will support this project by purchasing bracelets at games this season.”

Fans can also purchase bracelets at www.LoveforLokomotiv.com. The cost for bracelets is $25 for kids’ beaded bracelets, $50 for adult beaded bracelets and $10 for silicon bracelets. All the money raised will go to families through a partnership with Coyotes Charities and the Arizona Community Foundation.

The bracelets will be available to fans at Coyotes games beginning on Saturday, October 1 when the Coyotes face the San Jose Sharks in their final preseason game at Jobing.Com Arena. Bracelets will be available on the main concourse at all regular season games throughout the 2011-12 NHL season.
