Coyotes Assign Summers to AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned defenseman Chris Summers to the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 6-foot-2, 209 pound Summers was recalled by Phoenix on Oct. 10. He has appeared in one game with Portland (AHL) this season. In 2010-11, the 23-year-old native of Ann Arbor, Michigan recorded 1-7-8 and 52 PIM in 58 games with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).

Summers was drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (29th overall) in the 2006 Entry Draft.
