GLENDALE -- Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle punctuated a fun and memorable weekend at the NHL All-Star Game in Ottawa by notching his first All-Star point in Sunday’s exhibition game - which Team Chara won, 12-9, over Team Alfredsson.![]() |

Playing for Team Alfredsson, Yandle, who made his second consecutive All-Star Game appearance, had a blast.
“Nobody likes losing, but it was a good weekend and it was a good show,” Yandle said. “You just hope the fans got what they paid for.”
Yandle nearly scored a goal early in the first period but his shot on goalie Jimmy Howard hit the crossbar. Later in the period, Yandle assisted on the goal scored by John Tavares that tied the score 3-3.
“It’s tough to rate yourself in a game like that,” Yandle said. “It would be like rating yourself in a summer league game, but it was fun. I had a great time… I met some new guys and it was a great experience.”

What he didn’t enjoy was having to defend against Team Chara’s top line of center Pavel Datsyuk and wingers Marian Gaborik and Marian Hossa, who combined for four goals and 10 points.
“It was a nightmare,” Yandle said. “It was something you have bad dreams about. It was fun seeing them out there but it wasn’t fun playing against them.”
Next up for Yandle is a quick trip back to Phoenix. He and the rest of the Coyotes will host Anaheim on Tuesday as the season resumes with 32 games to go.
