EDMONTON -- The month of February has been a good one for our team. Obviously we’re playing well and feeling good about it. This stretch of wins we’ve put together is huge and has saved our season. Even that game at Vancouver that we lost in the shootout, we worked hard to get that point. That’s a big deal.
The come-from-behind wins vs. the Kings and the Flames the past two games have been confidence-builders for our team. I think they’ve made us realize that we can have a stinker and still pull out a win, even though we don’t want to do that too often.I really enjoyed playing Thursday’s game at Calgary against one of my former teams. I loved playing for Calgary before coming to the Coyotes. It’s a great hockey town and I had two really fun years there. I’m looking forward to playing them two more times down the stretch. With where they’re at right now in the standings and where we’re at, we know it’s going to be a battle with them for the rest of the season.

As of today we are tied with San Jose with 71 points. People are starting to ask us if we think we can overtake them and win the Pacific Division. While we cannot control how they play, I think we have a shot at it if we continue to play the way we are playing right now. We play the Sharks three more times so we shall see. It’s definitely possible and it has definitely added some extra excitement and a little more incentive for the last six weeks of the season.
To be where we’re at now, especially after those two months of hell we endured with that crazy travel schedule, is obviously very exciting. This is really why we play the game, and knowing that we have a realistic shot at winning the Cup makes it extremely fun to come to the rink every day.
Thanks for reading.
