Coyotes Re-Sign Miele to One-Year Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed center Andy Miele to a one-year, two-way contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 5-foot-9, 180 pound Miele recorded 16-38-54 with Portland (AHL) in 2011-12. He led the Pirates in assists (38) and points (54) in his first professional season. Miele made his NHL debut with Phoenix on Oct. 23, 2011 at Anaheim. He appeared in seven games with the Coyotes during the 2011-12 regular season.

The 24-year-old native of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan was the recipient of the 2011 Hobey Baker Award after an outstanding 2010-11 season with Miami University (CCHA). He led the entire NCAA with 24-47-71 in just 39 games. In 141 career NCAA games with the Redhawks, Miele collected 60-100-160 and 134 penalty minutes (PIM).
