Coyotes Re-Sign Chipchura to One-Year Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed restricted free agent forward Kyle Chipchura to a one-year contract. As per Club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Last season, the 6-foot-2, 205 pound Chipchura played 53 games for the Coyotes registering 3-13-16 and 42 penalty minutes (PIM). His 13 assists and 16 points were both career highs. Chipchura also played in 15 playoff games for the Coyotes, collecting 1-3-4. He began the season with the Portland Pirates (AHL), playing in 8 games and recording 4-2-6 and 4 PIM.
“We are very pleased to re-sign Kyle,” said Maloney. “Kyle is a hard-working, versatile forward who brings toughness and grit to our lineup. We are happy to have him back.”
In five NHL seasons with Montreal, Anaheim and Phoenix, the 26-year-old native of Westlock, Alberta has appeared in 216 games, registering 13-31-44 and 161 PIM.
Chipchura was originally drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round (18th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
