Portland Loses Final Exhibition Game

The Manchester Monarchs scored five power-play goals on Monday en route to a 7-1 win over the Portland Pirates in an American Hockey League exhibition game at Salem, N.H.

Forward Darian Dziurzynski scored a goal at 14:01 of the third period for Portland, the Coyotes’ top affiliate in the AHL.
Manchester was 5 for 11 on the power play, while Portland was 0 for 5. The Monarchs outshot the Pirates 40-18.
Mark Visentin played goal for Portland, which dropped to 1-1-1 after three preseason games.
The Pirates will next take the ice on Saturday when they play at Adirondack in their regular-season opener.
