Goaltender Chad Johnson stopped all 31 shots he faced for his second shutout of the year, as the Portland Pirates defeated the St. John's IceCaps 3-0 in their Portland opener on Nov. 2.

Johnson’s shutout was the second he’s had in consecutive games against St. John’s.

The Pirates offense was supplied by Chris Brown, Brett Hextall, and Brendan Shinnimin, who chipped in 3 points on the night.

Defenseman Michael Stone also had two assists as the Pirates played before a sellout crowd at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Five prospects are playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators:

• Goalie Mike Lee is 5-2-1 with a 1.88 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.

• Goalie Louis Domingue is 0-1-0 with a 4.08 goals-against average and a .833 save percentage.

• Forward Evan Bloodoff has four goals and four assists in seven games and is plus-6.

• Defenseman Justin Weller has played nine games and is plus-3.

• Forward Maxime Villemaire has played four games and is minus-1.


Defenseman David Schlemko and forward Kyle Chipchura are playing for the Arizona Sundogs during the NHL lockout.

• Forward Andrew Fritsch has six goals and eight assists in 18 games for Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)


• Defenseman Justin Hache has eight assists in 18 games for Cape Breton (QMJHL)

• Forward Kale Kessy has four goals and three assists in eight games for Vancouver (WHL)

• Forward Lucas Lessio (injured) has seven goals and six assists in 13 games for Oshawa (OHL)

• Defenseman James Melindy has two goals and three assists in 19 games for Moncton (QMJHL)

• Defenseman Connor Murphy has two goals and two assists in 17 games for Sarnia (OHL)

• Forward Henrik Samuelsson has nine goals and nine assists in 17 games for Edmonton (WHL)

• Goalie Marek Langhamer is 4-4-1 with a 3.30 goals-against average and a .884 save percentage for Medicine Hat (WHL)


• Forward Samuel "Hunter" Fejes has one goal and three assists in eight games for Colorado College (WCHA)

• Defenseman Rhett Holland has played three games for Michigan State (CCHA)

• Forward Zac Larraza has one goal and three assists in five games for University of Denver (WCHA)


• Forward Viktor Tikhonov has five goals and seven assists in 17 games for St. Petersburg.

• Defenseman Jonas Ahnelov has one assist in 20 games for Modo (SWE)
