The Boedker Blog: Getting Back to 'Coyotes Hockey'
GLENDALE -- Hi everyone and welcome to my first blog for phoenixcoyotes.com.
I hope you enjoy reading it. It was fun to write.
Let me start by telling you how excited I am to be back playing hockey for the Coyotes. The off-season lasted longer than we all thought it would but it’s great to be back to work now. I really missed being in Arizona, being in our arena and wearing my Coyotes sweater.

Before the season started, I kept busy by playing hockey in a small town in Finland. It was a good opportunity for me to stay in game shape and it was a lot of fun because I got to hang out with some of my Danish friends when I wasn’t playing.
Life is good now that the NHL season has started. Our team has played well the last few games and we’re starting to get into a good rhythm and are back to playing "Coyotes Hockey" like we did last season. We lost two good players in Ray Whitney and Taylor Pyatt, but management here does a great job of finding guys with the same goals and the same mindset, and we’re all confident Steve Sullivan and David Moss can replace Whitney and Pyatt. They are great guys and they fit in perfectly with our group.
The mood around our team is light. Our leaders – Shane Doan, Keith Yandle, Derek Morris – do a great job of keeping things fun but keeping our team focused on winning. I think it’s the “Coyotes Way” to have everybody on the same page and that’s how it is here. We are all just everyday guys who come to work with a smile on our face and then work hard.
Later this week we will go on our first long road trip of the season. It will be different because this season I get my own hotel room when we are on the road. It’s OK, but honestly, I prefer having a roommate; you have somebody to talk to and go over stuff with or just watch TV with. I used to room with Oliver and it was great. We’re pretty close. We’re about the same age and we have a lot to talk about. I think guys with kids prefer not having roommates, but I like having a roommate. It’s more fun.
While on the road I will watch my favorite TV show - Suits. It’s a show on USA Network about a law firm in New York City and I enjoy watching it very much. Lots of guys on our team are watching it now and we are having good conversations about it. It’s a really good show. It’s not very intense but it has a lot of things going on. We have fun talking about. You should check it out...
Well, that’s all for now. Thanks again for reading my blog. I look forward to seeing our fans at our home games this season.
