Sunday, February 10th: at Springfield 3, Portland 0

After postponed games on Friday and Saturday nights, the Portland Pirates were shut out for the first time this season as Curtis McElhinney stopped all 28 Pirates shots he faced.

Monday, February 11th: Portland 5, at Providence 2

In a makeup game from Friday night, the Portland Pirates defeated the Providence Bruins by a 5-2 score at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence.

Rob Klinkhammer scored twice and four Pirates had multi-point games. Mark Visentin had 25 saves on 27 shots to pick up his 11th win.

Four prospects are playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators:

• Goalie Mike Lee is 14-11-1 with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.

• Goalie Louis Domingue is 15-8-2 with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage.

• Forward Scott Arnold has five goals and eight assists in 20 games.

• Defenseman Justin Weller has two goals and three assists in 46 games.

Canadian Hockey League

Nine prospects are playing junior hockey for Canadian Hockey League teams:

• Forward Andrew Fritsch has 17 goals and 15 assists in 42 games for Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)

• Defenseman Justin Hache has five goals and 19 assists in 53 games for Cape Breton (QMJHL)

• Forward Kale Kessy has 14 goals and 15 assists in 45 games for Vancouver (WHL) and Kamloops (WHL)

• Forward Lucas Lessio has 10 goals and 10 assists in 21 games for Oshawa (OHL)

• Defenseman James Melindy has three goals and 15 assists in 51 games for Moncton (QMJHL)

• Defenseman Connor Murphy (injured) has six goals and 12 assists in 33 games for Sarnia (OHL)

• Forward Henrik Samuelsson has 29 goals and 41 assists in 58 games for Edmonton (WHL)

• Forward Maxime Villemaire has five goals and six assists in 14 games for Saint John (QMJHL).

• Goalie Marek Langhamer is 10-10-1 with a 3.70 goals-against average and a .887 save percentage for Medicine Hat (WHL)


• Forward Samuel "Hunter" Fejes has five goals and five assists in 29 games for Colorado College (WCHA)

• Defenseman Rhett Holland (injured) has played three games for Michigan State (CCHA)

• Forward Zac Larraza has seven goals and eight assists in 26 games for University of Denver (WCHA)


• Forward Viktor Tikhonov has 12 goals and 15 assists in 36 games for St. Petersburg.

European Elite Leagues

• Defenseman Jonas Ahnelov has two goals and five assists in 44 games for Modo (SWE)

• Forward Vladimir Ruzicka has five goals and 21 assists in 44 games for Slavia Praha (CZECH)

Finnish Leagues

• Forward Alexander Ruuttu has nine goals and 17 assists in 35 games for Kiekko-Vantaa (FIN D1), and has played four games for Jokerit (SM-liiga) and has played five games for Ilves (SM-liiga)
