2012-2013 Coyotes Prospects Report: 02\/25\/2013


Saturday, February 23rd: at Worcester 4, Portland 1

The Pirates were unable to overcome three first-period goals by the Sharks, falling by a 4-1 score.

Phil Lane had the lone Pirates goal, and Louis Domingue made his AHL debut, stopping 21 of 22 shots in the final two periods of play.

Sunday, February 24th: Portland 4, Manchester 3 (OT)

The Pirates prevailed in a back-and-forth contest to win 4-3 in OT and take a 5-4 advantage in the VIP Cup, presented by VIP Parts, Tires & Service.

Chris Conner scored just seven seconds into overtime and Phil Lane added 2 more goals in the victory.

Four prospects are playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators:

• Goalie Mike Lee is 14-11-1 with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.

• Goalie Louis Domingue is 16-8-2 with a 2.94 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage.

• Forward Scott Arnold has five goals and eight assists in 21 games.

• Defenseman Justin Weller has two goals and five assists in 52 games.

Canadian Hockey League

Nine prospects are playing junior hockey for Canadian Hockey League teams:

• Forward Andrew Fritsch has 24 goals and 18 assists in 47 games for Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)

• Defenseman Justin Hache has five goals and 21 assists in 59 games for Cape Breton (QMJHL)

• Forward Kale Kessy has 16 goals and 16 assists in 51 games for Vancouver (WHL) and Kamloops (WHL)

• Forward Lucas Lessio has 11 goals and 14 assists in 27 games for Oshawa (OHL)

• Defenseman James Melindy has three goals and 18 assists in 57 games for Moncton (QMJHL)

• Defenseman Connor Murphy (injured) has six goals and 12 assists in 33 games for Sarnia (OHL)

• Forward Henrik Samuelsson has 31 goals and 43 assists in 63 games for Edmonton (WHL)

• Forward Maxime Villemaire has seven goals and eight assists in 20 games for Saint John (QMJHL).

• Goalie Marek Langhamer is 13-10-1 with a 3.34 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage for Medicine Hat (WHL)


• Forward Samuel "Hunter" Fejes has five goals and five assists in 31 games for Colorado College (WCHA)

• Defenseman Rhett Holland (injured) has played three games for Michigan State (CCHA)

• Forward Zac Larraza has eight goals and eight assists in 28 games for University of Denver (WCHA)


• Forward Viktor Tikhonov has 12 goals and 15 assists in 39 games for St. Petersburg.

European Elite Leagues

• Defenseman Jonas Ahnelov has two goals and six assists in 49 games for Modo (SWE)

• Forward Vladimir Ruzicka has five goals and 21 assists in 48 games for Slavia Praha (CZECH)

Finnish Leagues

• Forward Alexander Ruuttu has nine goals and 17 assists in 35 games for Kiekko-Vantaa (FIN D1), has four assists in 11 games for Ilves (SM-liiga), and has played four games for Jokerit (SM-liiga)
