Coyotes Assign Summers to AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned defenseman Chris Summers to the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Summers has played in five games with the Coyotes this season. He has also played in 41 games with the Pirates in 2012-13, collecting 2-8-10 and 45 PIM.

The 25-year-old native of Ann Arbor, Michigan was originally drafted by Phoenix in the first round (29th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
