Phoenix Coyotes

AHL

Friday, March 22nd: Portland 5, St. John’s 2

Jordan Szwarz scored twice, including once on a penalty shot, and the Pirates defeated the IceCaps by a 5-2 score.

Mark Visentin made 31 saves in his return from injury, and Alexandre Bolduc, Chris Brown, and Andy Miele all added goals.

Saturday, March 23rd: St. John’s 4, Portland 1

Nick Johnson scored his first Pirates goal just 1:37 into the game, but the IceCaps scored four unanswered to defeat the Pirates 4-1 in their final trip to the Cumberland County Civic Center this season.

Sunday, March 24th: at Adirondack 4, Portland 2

Portland fell behind just nine seconds into the game, setting a team record for fastest goal allowed, but were able to retake the lead before Adirondack scored three unanswered in the second period to take the 4-2 win.

Brendan Shinnimin and Jordan Martinook scored the Pirates goals.

ECHL

Five prospects are playing for the Gwinnett Gladiators:

• Goalie Mike Lee is 14-11-1 with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.

• Goalie Louis Domingue is 22-9-2 with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.

• Forward Scott Arnold has eight goals and 12 assists in 31 games.

• Forward Evan Bloodoff has 20 goals and 18 assists in 51 games.

• Defenseman Justin Weller has two goals and nine assists in 64 games.


Canadian Hockey League

Ten prospects are playing junior hockey for Canadian Hockey League teams:

• Defenseman Mathieu Brisebois has 19 goals and 54 assists in 64 games for Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL)

• Forward Andrew Fritsch has 27 goals and 25 assists in 55 games for Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)

• Defenseman Justin Hache has seven goals and 26 assists in 68 games for Cape Breton (QMJHL)

• Forward Kale Kessy has 21 goals and 22 assists in 60 games for Vancouver (WHL) and Kamloops (WHL)

• Forward Lucas Lessio has 19 goals and 15 assists in 35 games for Oshawa (OHL)

• Defenseman James Melindy has four goals and 20 assists in 67 games for Moncton (QMJHL)

• Defenseman Connor Murphy (injured) has six goals and 12 assists in 33 games for Sarnia (OHL)

• Forward Henrik Samuelsson has 33 goals and 47 assists in 69 games for Edmonton (WHL)

• Forward Maxime Villemaire has 13 goals and 11 assists in 29 games for Saint John (QMJHL).

• Goalie Marek Langhamer is 15-12-1 with a 3.44 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage for Medicine Hat (WHL)


NCAA

• Forward Samuel "Hunter" Fejes has eight goals and six assists in 41 games for Colorado College (WCHA)

• Defenseman Rhett Holland (injured) has played three games for Michigan State (CCHA)

• Forward Zac Larraza has 12 goals and nine assists in 35 games for University of Denver (WCHA)


KHL

• Forward Viktor Tikhonov has 18 goals and 21 assists in 48 games for St. Petersburg, including playoffs.


European Elite Leagues

• Defenseman Jonas Ahnelov has three goals and six assists in 58 games for Modo (SWE), including playoffs.

• Forward Vladimir Ruzicka has 10 goals and 23 assists in 56 games for Slavia Praha (CZECH), including playoffs.


Finnish Leagues

• Forward Alexander Ruuttu has nine goals and 17 assists in 35 games for Kiekko-Vantaa (FIN D1), has six assists in 18 games for Ilves (SM-liiga), and has played four games for Jokerit (SM-liiga)

• Defenseman Niklas Tikkinen has three goals and 15 assists in 14 games for Espoo (Jr. A SM-liiga), one goal and seven assists in 25 games for Espoo (SM-liiga), one goal and two assists in five games for HCK (Finland2), and three assists in two games for LeKi (Finland2).
