GLENDALE – Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle, who was born and raised in the Boston area, sent a heartfelt message to his hometown on Monday night for all to see.

Yandle wrote the words “Pray for Boston” on one of his skates and wore it during the team’s 4-0 loss to San Jose at Jobing.com Arena. (See photo at right).

The city of Boston was reeling on Monday after three people were killed and more than 100 others were injured after several explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Yandle is a native of Milton, Mass., which is less than 10 miles from Boston.

Before the game began, the Coyotes asked those in attendance to observe a moment of silence for those affected by the tragic events in Boston.
